About Us

From Pre-History to recent history, we love it all. Artifacts are our passion.

Our life-long passion for artifacts began in 1955 when our grandfather found a jasper arrowhead in his back yard while walking with our father. That moment left such an impression on our father, that he has since collected a museum's worth of indian and colonial artifacts that he found in the fields of our area. We each found our first arrowhead at 5 years old and have also accumulated impressive collections in the face of increasing development. When we were little, fields were still being plowed deep and often, there was more of them and farmer's welcomed us onto their land when we asked permission. Now adays, it is rarer to fieldwalk for prehistory, and more common for us to put the coil to the soil.

We are 5th generation from our town, it used to be a smaller town where everyone knew each other. Our family was known to collect artifacts and always get permission from land owners, something that is almost lost today. We developed many friendships with farmers and were always welcome on their land. Few of those original farmers are left, and few of our fields. We have since turned to metal detecting to find treasures. Most people don't mind when we ask for permission, since we are very respectful, especially with their land. Having professional archaeology in my backround, you should see me backfil a shovel test pit.

We also collect alot of other things. Our grandfather, a retired history teacher, owned and operated a tremendous book store, The Book Barn on the banks of the Bushkill Creek in Tatamy PA. He has since retired from his business, but while it was going people would come from all over the country to visit the ABC Barn. Through grandpaw, we fell in love with books, military artifacts and other items of varying interests.
